Wow- great new job for Mr. Michael! Who else was in the running? I like the designs in the second and third photo. I can't pinpoint his style. I tend to be a bit eclectic. But then again, I gravitate towards antlers, chandeliers, navajo blankets and monogramming. So I have no experience to speak from! ;)
His work is great from the photos. It will be interesting to see how he incorporates the new president's style into the white house. I like your blog...I grew up in Santa Barbara but am in Texas now. Design is a passion of mine too.
Blessings!

I like....very much!

I do really like his style. It is a bit of elegant and eclectic with a twist of modern elements in there. WOW the white house...could you imagine, where would you even start. Love your blog by the way.
His style is the perfect mix of elegance with a modern touch!
Wow! I guess the White House will get a modern new edge! Will this be for the private quarters? I am more of a traditionalist myself....Debbie
Meh - I like the white/tan bedroom and the cream/black/white entry, but the rest is a little stuffy for me. Even the "modern" clean stuff has an uptight vibe.
Honestly, I LOVE. (That pale aqua bedroom is my favorite!)
I hadn't known of him prior to your post .... I do like everything you have shown us. I will go searching for more of him!
I think Michael Smith is the perfect choice to decorate the White House.
Yes, I like Michael's work. I like how he mixes dark woods with light fabrics and the elegant clean lines. He also mixes a little modern with classic and I am definately a mix-it-up girl!!
Hope we get to see what he does with the White House!

I do like -- very much. I hope we'll get to see what he does in the White House. Thanks for sharing these pix of his work. laurie
Boy, isn't he lucky? I didn't know it needed re-doing! :O) I like some of his photos (the traditional ones), but not so much the contemporary ones. I think the WH should be traditional, so he should be a good fit...since they didn't select US!
